The 2044 alignments
According to Andrew Collins' theory the three main Giza pyramids symbolize the three wing stars of the Cygnus constellation. According to Robert Bauval's theory the three main Giza pyramids symbolize the three belt stars of the Orion constellation.
In the Stellarium photo presented we chose as an observation point the center of the Acropolis of the 7 gate Hellenic city of Thebes. The date is set to April 22, 2044 AD. The time is 21:55:24 UCT+02:00. The day is Holy Friday and the time coincides with the liturgy of Epitaph.
We notice that the central Cygnus star Sadr(Gamma Cygni) is rising in the East, geometrically exactly on the ideal horizon. On the other hand the central Orion star Alnilam(Epsilon Orionis) is setting in the West, geometrically exactly on the ideal horizon.
To the West of Thebes in Boeotia is mount Zagaras, a sub peak of the Helicon mountain range. The azimuth of Mintaka is close to that of exact West(270 degrees). The bright star Aldebaran(Alpha Tauri) is just below the geometric horizon and it perfectly aligns with the direction of mount Parnassus. The brightest star of the Orion constelation is Rigel(Beta Orionis) which is below the horizon at this instant. It's azimuth aligns well with the tallest peak of mount Helicon. The bright stars Pollux and Castor of the Gemini constellation high up in the sky align direction-wise with sub-peaks of the Helicon mountain range.
It is possible that the Giza Pyramids were erected so as to depict astronomical alignments including planetary distances from the Sun or the Earth. Below we have depicted the distance of the internal planets plus the Sun in regards to the Earth as they are at exact midnight between April 22 and April 23, 2044 AD. Thebes represents the Earth. Venus aligns perfectly with mount Parnassus. On the other hand Mercury aligns perfectly with mount Giona. These two mountains correspond the two largest pyramids at Giza(Khafre's and Khufu's). The scale between the Hellenic geographic and the astronomy distances is one to one million.
